MARK MALAMURA

Mark Malamura, Registered Massage Therapist

Mark Malamura is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) within the practitioner team at Clayton Heights Sports & Therapy Center. He graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT) in 2018 with a certificate in Massage Therapy. He is very passionate about helping people of all lifestyles achieve their health and recovery goals.

Mark has always had a love for sports and being active. He started playing soccer as a young kid in Surrey and Langley until the age of 16 when he decided to move to Germany to pursue a professional soccer career. He played for a number of teams in Germany and Slovakia in the span of 3 years. In his last season playing for FC Augsburg in Germany, he suffered torn muscles in his hamstrings and quadriceps. This unfortunately ended his career overseas and he ended up moving back home to seek treatment and recovery. He started seeing an RMT when he got back home and through those treatments, he was able to completely recover from his injuries and was able to get back to playing soccer again. It was also through that experience that he found his passion for the human body and how everything is interconnected. He experienced firsthand the relief and benefits that massage therapy can have on the body and wants to give people the opportunity to see and feel the benefits of massage for themselves.

Since becoming an RMT, he has had the opportunity to work with a number of athletes and professional sports teams, including the Vancouver Whitecaps and Canadian National Rugby Team. Mark combines his knowledge of human anatomy with his own experience in sports to make him the type of therapist he is. He focuses on the individual goals of his patients and works with them to find solutions and the proper home care to reinforce his treatments. Through modalities such as Swedish massage, joint mobilizations, myofascial release, and many more, he works to decrease patients’ symptoms and help them reach their optimal health.
