  • Rest - minimize movement for a few hours

  • Ice - apply an ice pack to your injury

  • Compress - firmly wrap a bandage around the injury

  • Elevate - elevate the injury about your heart or close to it

The R.I.C.E. method may relieve pain and swelling from an injured knee or sprained ankle. These types of injuries are fairly common, so it helps to know how to treat them.

Finally, you can visit a physiotherapist. A physiotherapist or physical therapist helps patients heal from common injuries, reduce existing pain or the need for surgery, and prevent future injuries.
